You can speed up if you hold down the left mouse button. This uses the energy you obtained from eating. Plan your movements in advance and sprint to beat other players. You can eat all the food that another snake leaves behind when you eliminate it.
Once you know how to play the game well, check out the shop's many skins. To get new skins, you have to complete achievements like getting high scores or playing for days in a row.
